The last thing we all need for these busy times is a recipe that’s laborious, no matter how delicious. From start to finish, this recipe took about 40 minutes and most of that time is just oven time where the gnocchi sizzles away to bubbly, golden brown, cheesy perfection.

What makes this recipe so stinking good isn’t just the harissa, but added simple ingredients of garlic, extra virgin olive oil, lemon, good sea salt and parsley. Cooked low and slow, the salmon stays perfectly moist under a bed of oily, fragrant harissa oil.

The majority of this recipe is all about buying the proper ingredients and assembly, so you’re already halfway there. But the real ticket is all about the caramelized onions which I take a shortcut with by cooking low and slow in my slow cooker.
